CHICK-FIL-A SCHOLARSHIPS

CFA_Icon_Graduation_Red_CMYK.jpg

It began with a mayonnaise jar...

In 1973, Truett Cathy set a jar on the restaurant counter. The reason? To help Team Member Eddie White raise funds to pursue his dream of a college education.

Thanks to contributions from guests and Truett himself, Eddie’s dream came true. After graduation, Eddie went on to have a career in education, eventually serving as Assistant Superintendent in the greater Atlanta area.

From that mayonnaise jar, Chick-fil-A’s scholarship was born. Since then, we’ve awarded over
$61 million to approximately 47,000 Chick-fil-A restaurant Team Members across the country.

For the 2019-2020 academic year, Chick-fil-A is proud to continue this tradition of giving back.

Once a recipient is selected, any continuing eligibility requirement based upon future employment or services would risk jeopardizing the tax qualified status of the scholarship. Team Members are not required to remain employed after being notified of their scholarship award. They must be employed at the time of application and when the award is announced.

**Professional achievement could include testimony of demonstrated leadership, contribution, work ethic, teamwork, and others. Although hours worked may allow Team Members to contribute at a higher level, a specific hours requirement should not be used in determining if an application should be submitted.

***The specific terms and conditions of any awarded scholarships will be different for Team Members of Chick-fil-A Franchisees,

Team Members of Chick-fil-A, Inc. Operated Restaurants, and Team Members of STC Brand Restaurants.
